Reflecting on a Year of Achievement: Recognized with Three Awards at TPIE

25 Jan | Biophilic Design, Featured

Our hearts are filled with immense gratitude and humble pride. This year has been one that will be etched in our memories for its challenges, creative breakthroughs, and above all, the recognition of our dedication to elevating spaces with greenery. We were honored to see three of our projects celebrated at the prestigious Tropical Plant International Expo. Each project, unique in its conception and execution, bore the distinct mark of our commitment to excellence, innovation, and the transformative power of nature.

From the architectural triumph of the Link Cube project, where we navigated complex logistics to breathe life into an outdated office building, to the Leo Kent, a high-rise hotel that stands as a testament to Tucson’s vibrant history and the serene beauty of the desert, and finally, to Tia’s Women’s Clinic, a sanctuary where women can find solace amidst verdant greenery while receiving top-tier healthcare – each project tells a story of teamwork, innovation, and renovation.

Link Cube, Phoenix AZ: A Gold-Awarded Triumph of Innovation, Collaboration, and Green Conversion

We struck gold with one of our favorite projects of the year, the creation of our botanical masterpiece, the Link Cube project. Awarded for the ingenuity of its installation, this project was a groundbreaking venture that required inventive thinking and a bold divergence from conventional methods. To establish the plants design, we employed a 45′ knuckle boom, a strategic solution that allowed us to navigate through double doors and extend over a second-floor mezzanine, reaching plants situated three stories high. The process, a spectacle, was as awe-inspiring as the finished product.

The Link Cube project is a powerful testament to the potential of collaboration and visionary design within the architecture and design industry. We were privileged to work with exceptional individuals who brought their profound expertise and unwavering passion to the project. Our deepest gratitude goes to Mackenzie McCulloch from Lamar Johnson Collaborative for his remarkable leadership, Steven Crowfoot from Wespac for his invaluable contributions, and Colleen Cunningham at Gensler for her excellent partnership and coordination.

By converting outdated office buildings into a sustainable, awe-inspiring space, the Link Cube project embodies the transformative influence of green spaces in uplifting spirits and promoting well-being. This project is an inspirational beacon for architects and designers, encouraging us to embrace nature and create captivating spaces. Let the Link Cube project be a source of inspiration for future generations to push boundaries and create spaces that captivate through innovation. Thank you!

The Leo Kent, Tucson AZ: An Architectural Marvel Honoring Arizona’s Heritage and the Serene Beauty of the Desert

We are immensely grateful to Tyler Kent for entrusting us with a project that has not only won us a gold award for design but also ignited an unprecedented passion within our team. The Leo Kent, a revitalized high-rise, now stands tall as a symbol of Tucson’s vibrant history and spirit. Every corner of this magnificent structure reflects the essence of our beloved home, Arizona. Thank you, Tyler, for the opportunity to bring this project to life.

The Leo Kent transcends the bounds of a typical boutique hotel; it’s our authentic, heartfelt method of introducing guests to the genuine essence of Arizona. It exudes a captivating fusion of modern Southwestern design and nature’s tranquility, creating a resonance that sings to the soul of every visitor. Our muse, the enchanting Arizona desert, inspired every detail, from the meticulously selected desert flora to the locally sourced yucca poles and mesquite trees. Our vision was to bring the calmness and serenity of our native environment indoors, crafting a harmonious blend between luxurious interiors and the raw, unfiltered beauty of the outdoors.

Every element within the hotel was chosen with deep intention and reverence, each contributing to an awe-inspiring interiorscape that takes your breath away. The result? It is an architectural marvel that pays homage to Tucson’s natural heritage and exalts the desert’s stunning beauty, placing it on a well-deserved pedestal.

Tia’s Women’s Clinic, Scottsdale AZ: A Fusion of Design and Nature that Transforms Spaces and Lives

We are profoundly humbled and deeply honored to accept the silver award for our interiorscape project at Tia’s Women’s Clinic. This recognition goes beyond a simple accolade; it underscores the power of design and nature to reshape spaces, transform experiences, and positively impact lives. Our vision was to create an interiorscape that transcends mere aesthetics and actively enhances the well-being of everyone who steps into the clinic. We aimed to leverage nature’s calming, inspiring, and healing attributes, infusing these elements into the fabric of the clinic’s environment.

In partnership with the gifted team at Tia, we’ve originated a space traditionally associated with stress and negative emotions into a haven where nature takes the limelight. Verdant greenery breathes life into each room, carving out islands of tranquility amidst the urban chaos. It’s a sanctuary where women can find solace, enveloped in the comforting embrace of nature while receiving top-tier healthcare.

What sets this project apart is its experiential design philosophy. It’s not just how the space looks but how it feels and impacts those within it. The design taps into our innate need to connect with nature. That’s why it resonates with so many people.

A heartfelt thank you to Tia’s team for entrusting us with their vision, our dedicated team for working tirelessly to bring this vision to life, and everyone for recognizing and honoring our work today.

Embracing the Future: Creating Experiences, Touching Lives, and Channeling the Energy of Nature

As we close this chapter, we remember that it’s not just about awards or recognition—it’s about the people we touch, the environments we reshape, and the lives we impact. We are continually influenced by nature’s ability to heal, comfort, and motivate. We are driven by our passion for creating spaces that are not only visually stunning but also contribute positively to everyone who experiences them. As we look ahead, we are more committed than ever to pushing boundaries, challenging norms, and harnessing the transformative power of design and nature. We extend our heartfelt thanks for your steadfast support and pledge to continue to develop spaces that bring comfort, change, and spark creativity. Here’s to another year of growth, innovation, and effecting change—one project at a time. We eagerly anticipate what lies ahead and hope to encourage others to contemplate biophilic design in their next endeavor.
