VISION

The Leo Kent, once a vacant high-rise office space, was transformed into a hotel that reflects Tucson’s unique history and soul. Named in honor of Tyler Kent’s grandfather, it is one of the only high-rise adaptive reuse conversions ever executed in Arizona. Our goal was to incorporate various plantscapes that seamlessly blend modern, classical Southwestern design with the tranquility of nature.

An array of indoor plants and art inspired the landscapes of Arizona included cactus, potted trees, custom botanical ceiling vines, and space dividers made of harvested yucca skeletons. Desert-inspired plants and custom-designed arrangements were locally sourced, bringing a layer of depth to the ambiance of each area.

The Leo Kent integrates nature’s beauty into its architecture, from ornate potted plants framing reception areas and hanging gardens adorning the restaurant and meeting spaces. Artwork by Tucson native Jane Barton further immerses guests in the spirit of Tucson, creating an unforgettable fusion of luxury, nature, and history.
